USRAH 3: Project (Filial Piety)

As-salāmu ʿalaykum.

It's been too long. We're currently in year 2020 and Usrah Budi 3. Wow, only a quarter left of the Usrah Budi series for me to look forward to. I learned and benefited a lot from Usrah Budi 1 until now, which made me realise that lessons from just a few minutes of discussion can be so life-changing and an eye-opener. MaSyaaAllah.

And well for our project this Semester, my group and I had chose to make a poster based on the topic, Filial Piety. Ta-da!

The planning of the project was smooth-sailing and pleasant, for that experience I am so grateful. When we were assigned this task and were told to form groups with fellow sisters, I was so grateful to have wonderful group mates to work with. The following were the progression of our project:
On 1st July 2020, we formed our groups and had an introduction session between members. Alhamdulillah, by 18th July, we managed to come up with a concrete plan and topic which is Filial Piety and with everything going smoothly as plan, we began delegating tasks by 20th July. Information and content collation were settled as of 24th July. Finally, the poster was completed by 27th July. The cooperation by every members despite respective hectic schedule was commendable and something I would like to appreciate, Ma Shaa Allah. May Allah bless and ease their affairs, Ameen.

Filial Piety is a concept known and even culturally incorporated in our lives. However, this topic is eventually chosen because I believe it is a timely reminder appropriate for all walks of life. This topic has resonated a lot with me especially during this unique times with the global pandemic. Knowing COVID19 is very dangerous to our elders and that they are considered in the vulnerable group, this is a crucial time for the young to put in more effort  than usual to accommodate to our parents and elders' needs - both physical, psychological and emotional needs. It is easy to get distracted in our daily struggles and commitments that often a times, we tend to neglect our elders' needs nor provide adequate support they may have wanted. And even after this pandemic passed, we have hopefully inculcated it into our daily lives.

For that, I guess this project would serve as a reminder for myself first and hopefully be of benefit to others, In Shaa Allah.

Signing off,
Azzah.
